We have been getting a lot of questions on whether or not there will be more updates for our servers. It has been a while since the last update and that is uppermost because of unfortunate events that has prevented us from using our time to work on the servers. Now we are back on track and we have begun developing the servers actively again. This also means that we are going to start a new server, and we have decided to make it much like SoftCores since it was our most loved server through time. Right now it is unclear whether SoftCores will be replaced by this server or not, it all depends on how many players the server has when we are getting closer to the launch of the new one. The update will of course also be applied to IceChaw.

We believe that this new server is going to be even better than SoftCores has ever been, since we have learned from our old mistakes. For instance, we have developed a deeper understanding for the community and we understand that there will always be botters. Instead of fighting the community, we will try to promote team-hunting and questing to make it more fun and profitable than botting.

So, by this I am confirming that an update is coming, but we are not quite ready to tell you when. You will all be notified when we are getting closer to the launch date. There is no need to ask us when, since we won't be able to answer until we are almost done. These servers are something that we are working with on our free-time and we do it because we believe that it is fun. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do, and we hope to see both old and new players on the new server.

The servers are finally updated protocol 8.7, this update includes the following changes:

• Spell cooldowns with groups (old cooldowns are still being used with few adjustments).
• Mounts (until taming is possible, you will be able to use all mounts!).
• All reported protection zone bugs are fixed.
• Added a missing outfit.
• Misc. bug fixes.

If you are unable to connect with the 8.7 client, download a newer version of the IP Changer and try again! I hope to be able to deliver updates more frequently now after the long period without updates due to lack of time. Inactive players are advised to login as soon as possible to prevent losing their character due to inactivity, if you have friends that used to play you should notify them that they risk losing their character if they don't login in the next few days.

It's been over a month since we last said that we would update to 8.6 (actually we're going straight to 8.62), I know. That's why I'm writing this as a status update. The problem is that it hasn't been entirely safe to update yet because of possible debug errors. Once we can guarantee that it's safe to update we will definitely do so. The update will also include some stuff we have been working on during this time, and the possibility of launching a new server. More information about the stuff we have been working on and possible new servers will be announced at a later time because we are not ready for feedback on the new stuff yet.

Just to let everyone know... the servers are going to be updated to use 8.6. We are not dead. We are still testing it to make sure it doesn't cause debug errors or any other issues. We are also sorry for the lack of updates in the past weeks. We hope that we can improve a lot after finishing the update to 8.6.
